# How to connect Claude or ChatGPT to your progress bar

> Connect your AI assistant from Connect AI (Beta) in the app, then ask it to get you started: it reviews your setup, suggests a first tier and creates it once you agree.

## Connect your assistant

1. In the app menu, open **Connect AI (Beta)**.
2. Choose your assistant (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and others) and follow the steps shown: copy the address, add it as a connector, then approve the connection with your Shopify account.
3. Once your assistant has used the connection, it appears under **Connected AI clients**.

Adding a custom connector in Claude requires a Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise plan. For what the connection can and cannot reach, see [Connect your AI](https://www.yaco.studio/ai-connect).

## Get started in one request

Under **Try these requests**, copy the first request and paste it into your conversation:

> Help me get started with Yaco Progress Bar: review my setup, then create my first goal with me.

The app calls tiers "goals", so the request does too. The assistant then:

- checks which store it is connected to, with its currency and languages;
- sums up what is already set up, and whether the app embed is on: without it, the bar does not show on your storefront;
- suggests a first tier from your shipping rates and automatic discounts;
- creates it once you agree, and tells you what the bar now shows.

## What your assistant does before changing anything

Yaco Progress Bar gives every assistant the same working rules, whichever one you use:

- it reads your configuration before changing it;
- it describes the changes it plans and waits for your agreement. One agreement can cover several changes presented together;
- before a series of changes, it takes a backup you can restore. Every change is also backed up automatically, and can be restored for 72 hours;
- on the free plan, it tells you before creating a second tier if your storefront only shows one (see [subscription](https://www.yaco.studio/docs/subscription)).

These rules are instructions given to the assistant, not a lock. Some assistants run actions without asking: check your assistant's settings if you want it to ask for approval before each action.

## A change does not show on the storefront

Your storefront keeps the bar in cache for a few minutes. Wait a moment and reload the page before concluding that a change failed. If the bar does not show at all, see [the bar does not show](https://www.yaco.studio/docs/bar-not-showing).

## Disconnect an assistant

On **Connect AI (Beta)**, click **Revoke** next to the assistant under **Connected AI clients**. It loses access straight away.
