# How to subscribe, change plan or cancel Yaco Progress Bar

> Pick a plan on the Subscription page and approve it in Shopify: billing goes through your Shopify invoice. Change plan or unsubscribe from the same page at any time.

## When you need a subscription

A subscription puts the bar live on your public storefront. Until then, you can set everything up and preview the bar in the theme editor.

Development stores and password-protected storefronts do not need one: the **Subscription** page shows **No subscription needed yet** and the bar is already active. Subscribe on the day the store opens to the public, to keep the bar on your live theme.

## Subscribe

1. Open **Subscription** in the app menu.
2. Under **Choose your plan**, pick **Monthly billing** or **Yearly billing**, then a plan.
3. Click **Start trial**, or **Subscribe** if your store has already used its trial.
4. Approve the charge on the Shopify page that opens.

Billing goes through Shopify: the app appears on your Shopify invoice. Once the plan is active, the **Current plan** card shows **Progress bar is live**. If you do not see the bar on your store afterwards, see [bar not showing](https://www.yaco.studio/docs/bar-not-showing).

### Free plan

The **Free** card has no charge to approve: click **Activate** and the bar goes live on your storefront, limited to 1 active tier. The first activation opens the store's 14-day trial, during which all your tiers are published. After it, only the first active tier shows; the others stay saved, and a banner above the list tells you how many are hidden.

### Someone else approves the charges

Click **Share subscription link** under a plan to copy its Shopify approval link, then send it to the person who manages billing for the store.

## Free trial

The trial lasts 14 days, and a store gets one trial only, shared between the paid plans: moving to another plan does not start a new one. While it runs, the **Current plan** card shows a **Trial** badge and **Trial expires in** followed by the time left.

## Which plan for which feature

Every plan, the free plan included, has the whole bar, the checkout blocks (Shopify Plus), product recommendations, statistics over 60 days and the AI connection (**Connect AI (Beta)** in the app menu). What changes between plans:

- **Free**: 1 active tier published on your storefront;
- **Premium**: unlimited tiers;
- **Optimize**: everything in Premium, plus A/B testing. While A/B testing is in beta, Optimize is sold at a beta price: the **Optimize** card shows its list price struck through and a **Beta price** badge.

Prices are on the [pricing page](https://www.yaco.studio/pricing). If you subscribed to a plan that is no longer offered, it stays valid: you do not have to change.

## Manage your subscription

The **Current plan** card, at the top of the **Subscription** page, shows:

- your plan and billing interval, with a **Trial** badge during the trial;
- **Last invoice issued on** and **Current period ends on**;
- **Automatic unsubscription on uninstall**: uninstalling the app also ends the subscription.

To change plan, click the button of another plan and approve it in Shopify. The new subscription replaces the current one.

## Unsubscribe

1. On the **Subscription** page, click **Unsubscribe** at the bottom of the **Current plan** card.
2. Click **Confirm unsubscription**.

The bar no longer shows on your storefront. If a trial is running, it ends. The app stays installed with your settings, so you can subscribe again later.
