How to ask Shopify Sidekick about your progress bar
Ask Sidekick, the assistant in your Shopify admin, about your tiers, a discount that did not apply or where the bar sits in your theme. It never saves a change on its own.
What Sidekick can answer
Sidekick, the assistant built into your Shopify admin, can read your Yaco Progress Bar setup. Ask it in your own words, for example:
What tiers do I have in Yaco Progress Bar, with their thresholds in each market?
Why did the free gift not apply to order #1001?
Is the discount of my "10% off" tier set up correctly in Shopify?
What changed in my Yaco Progress Bar settings last week?
Where is the Yaco bar placed in my published theme?
It can also tell you where your free trial stands, and where other stores place the bar on the same theme.
Turn on Yaco Progress Bar in Sidekick
- Open Sidekick in your Shopify admin.
- Click + next to the message field, then Apps.
- Turn on Yaco Progress Bar.
The first time Sidekick uses the app in a conversation, it asks for your permission. Choose Yes for this request only, or the option that stops it from asking again.

Ask Sidekick to contact the Yaco Progress Bar team, for example:

Sidekick writes the request and opens the app with it ready in the support chat. Read it, change it if needed, then send it: nothing goes out until you click send.
Change a tier's discount or threshold from Sidekick
Ask Sidekick to change the amount, the percentage or the threshold of a tier that gives a discount, for example:
Change the discount of my Yaco Progress Bar tier "SAVE $10" to $15.
Lower the threshold of my "10% off" tier to $80.
Sidekick opens the tier in the app with the new values filled in. Check them, then click Save: nothing changes until you save, and Discard leaves the tier as it was. The threshold changed is the main one; thresholds set for a specific market stay as they are. The tier name and the discount title stay as they are too: change them on the same page if needed.
This works for tiers with an amount off, a percentage off or a free gift (threshold only). A "Buy X, get Y" tier takes its threshold from its rule: change it in the app.
What Sidekick does not do
- It never saves a change itself, and it only edits the discount and threshold of a tier: to edit a text tier, a design or a placement, open the app. To make changes with an AI assistant, see connect Claude or ChatGPT.
- It does not show statistics (impressions, tiers reached, clicks on recommendations): they are on the Analytics page of the app.
- It only sees data from your own store.
Sidekick says Yaco Progress Bar is unavailable
- Check that the app is turned on in Sidekick (+, then Apps), then reload the admin page and ask again.
- Start a new conversation: a long conversation can keep an answer from before the app was turned on.
- The settings history only goes back as far as your backups. When Sidekick finds no backup for a date, it means the settings of that day are unknown, not that nothing changed.
