Set up the bar, step by step.
Everything a merchant does in Yaco Progress Bar, in the order it happens: install, switch the app embed on, add tiers, choose how the gift is added, target, adapt to markets, save.
Install the app
- Install Yaco Progress Bar from the Shopify App Store.
- Open the app: the home page shows a setup guide in four steps.
- Follow it in order: configure goals and design, enable in Shopify, integrate in the main theme, publish the app.
Switch the app embed on in your theme
The bar is an app embed: it needs to be enabled once in the theme editor.
- In the Shopify admin, open Online Store › Customize.
- Click App embeds in the left sidebar.
- Turn on Yaco Progress Bar and save.
Add a tier
A tier is what the bar counts towards: free shipping, a free product, a percentage or an amount off.
- Open Goals & Discounts, tab Goals, then Add a goal.
- Choose the type: free product, percentage off or amount off. A text-only tier (free shipping) needs no discount.
- Fill in the name shown on the bar, the text template (for example {amount} left for {name}) and the threshold: an amount, a weight or a quantity depending on the bar.
- Save & publish at the top of the page.
Set up a free gift
The gift is a real product from your catalogue, added to the cart at zero when the tier is reached.
- In the tier card, pick the product and the variants the shopper can choose from.
- Choose how it is added: automatically with a chooser, on a button, or as a list inside the bar.
- Decide what happens when the cart drops below the tier: the gift is removed, at the next tier or at a set amount.
Set up a discount tier
The discount is created in Shopify by the app, and applied automatically at checkout.
- Pick Percentage off or Amount off and the value.
- Choose what the discount applies to: the whole order, or the products.
- Check how it combines with your discount codes, in the same card.
Bars
A bar is what the tiers are measured against. A store can run several.
- Open the Bars tab to add one.
- Pick the measure: cart amount, weight, quantity, or the customer’s history — lifetime spend or number of orders — for VIP tiers.
- Restrict it to collections if only part of the catalogue should count, and exclude gift cards.
Design
The design tabs shape the bar without code.
- Bar style: colours, height, radius.
- Marker, Price, Amount, Images: what each tier shows.
- Wrapper: margins and the placements in the cart drawer, top or bottom.
- Custom CSS for anything else; design presets to start from.
Success message and gift chooser
- The success message replaces the countdown when the tier is reached; it can be hidden per tier.
- The gift chooser opens when the gift has several variants; sold-out variants are skipped during the session.
- Its colours and texts are set once, in the app embed.
Targeting
Each tier can be shown to some shoppers only.
- Customer type (B2B, B2C), logged in or guest, customer tags, customer segments.
- Countries, and traffic source through campaign parameters.
- Cart conditions: collection, product, purchase type, cart attributes.
- Active dates, for a seasonal tier.
Markets
A tier can carry a different threshold per market, country or region.
- Under the tier sentence, add an exception for a market or one of its countries.
- Set its own threshold, or disable the tier there.
- A country inherits its market until it defines its own value; the preview switches to that market while you edit.
Save and publish
- Every change is a draft until Save & publish.
- Saving creates or updates the Shopify discounts the tiers need.
- A backup of the configuration can be taken before a large change, and restored.
