When you need a subscription

You do not need one to show the bar. The free plan starts on its own when you install the app: the Current plan card of the Subscription page shows Free.

The free plan opens with a 14-day trial during which all your tiers show on your store. The trial starts the first time your bar shows on your store, not at installation, so setting things up does not use it. If the bar has still not shown 14 days after installation, the trial starts anyway. Until it starts, all your tiers show too. When the trial starts, you get an email with its end date.

When the trial ends, the free plan keeps the first active tier on your store. The other tiers stay saved but stop showing. A paid plan keeps them all.

Development stores and password-protected storefronts are always free: the Subscription page shows No subscription needed yet and the bar is already active.

Plans, prices and what each plan includes are on the pricing page.

Before the trial ends

Three days before the end of the trial, you get an email, and a banner appears at the top of the Home and Goals & Discounts pages. It lists the tiers that will stop showing and the date of the switch, with a button to upgrade. The banner cannot be closed: it stays until the switch. On the last day, it reads Last day with all your goals. It only appears if some tiers are about to stop showing.

On the day the trial ends, a second email confirms the switch, which can take a few minutes to reach your store. From then on, the banner above the tier list reads Your trial is over: 1 goal shows on your store. The Home page shows the same banner once, with a button to upgrade; once you close it or click Continue with free, it does not come back. Nothing is deleted: subscribe to a paid plan and your hidden tiers show again.

The banner and the emails only concern stores on the free plan.

Subscribe

  1. Open Subscription in the app menu.
  2. Under Choose your plan, pick Monthly billing or Yearly billing, then a plan.
  3. Click Start trial, or Subscribe if your store has already used its trial.
  4. Approve the charge on the Shopify page that opens.

Billing goes through Shopify: the app appears on your Shopify invoice. After a first paid subscription, back in the app, the Home page opens the Setup Guide again. If a step is still missing, the guide shows it with its button: Enable app embedding to switch on the app embed, or Place progress bar to choose where the bar appears. The Integration status card flags it with a yellow or orange badge. The bar shows on your store once both are done, as explained in install the app. If you still do not see it, see bar not showing.

Free plan

The Free card reads Unlimited goals for 14 days, then 1 active goal. There is nothing to click: the free plan is already active after installation, and its card shows Current plan. From a paid plan, Activate on the Free card opens the unsubscribe confirmation: confirming it moves you back to the free plan.

The Current plan card shows where your trial stands:

  • Trial not started: your bar has not shown on your store yet. All your tiers show.
  • Premium trial, with the number of days left with all your tiers: the trial is running.
  • Limited to 1 active goal: the trial is over. Only the first active tier shows; the others stay saved, and a banner above the list tells you how many are hidden.

The free plan cannot be cancelled. To stop showing the bar, switch off the app embed or uninstall the app.

Someone else approves the charges

Click Share subscription link under a plan to copy its Shopify approval link, then send it to the person who manages billing for the store.

Free trial

A store gets one 14-day trial only, shared by the free plan and the paid plans: changing plan never starts a new one. If you subscribe to a paid plan during the trial, you keep the days left. On a paid plan, the Current plan card shows a Trial badge and Trial expires in followed by the time left.

Which plan for which feature

Every plan, the free plan included, has the whole bar, the checkout blocks (Shopify Plus), product recommendations, statistics over 60 days and the AI connection (Connect AI (Beta) in the app menu). What changes between plans:

  • Free: 1 active tier on your storefront, after a 14-day trial with all your tiers;
  • Premium: unlimited tiers;
  • Optimize: everything in Premium, plus A/B testing. While A/B testing is in beta, Optimize is sold at a beta price: the Optimize card shows its list price struck through and a Beta price badge.

The A/B testing (Beta) page stays visible on other plans and explains how to upgrade. See A/B testing.

Prices are on the pricing page. If you subscribed to a plan that is no longer offered, it stays valid: you do not have to change.

Manage your subscription

The Current plan card, at the top of the Subscription page, shows:

  • your plan and billing interval, with a Trial badge during the trial;
  • Last invoice issued on and Current period ends on;
  • Automatic unsubscription on uninstall: uninstalling the app also ends the subscription.

To change plan, click the button of another plan and approve it in Shopify. The new subscription replaces the current one.

Unsubscribe

  1. On the Subscription page, click Unsubscribe at the bottom of the Current plan card.
  2. Click Confirm unsubscription.

Your store goes back to the free plan right away, and the bar keeps showing. If your 14-day trial is still running, all your tiers keep showing until it ends; otherwise, 1 active tier shows. Your settings and tiers are kept, so you can subscribe again later.

To remove the app entirely, see uninstall.
